YOUR CHILD WILL EARN THEIR SUCCESS, NOTHING WILL BE GIVEN TO THEM.
@CTBA
No 6:00 Training at my gym tonight, will combine with 7:00.
Wendell killing it at Hannan Basketball Camp. Age only matter if you stink. Dribbling n Shooting winner. Gauff has to recruit him now, he has all the varsity uniform tops.

Happy Memorial Day, thank you to all who served and are serving now. America is not America without those who personally sacrificed. We are off Monday. Want to discuss something I have been pushing this last month. For those parents coming to training you have noticed my much more aggressive nature in training. May is Defense and Physicality. What this takes is the understanding that CONTACT is mandatory. Basketball is a bully sport like football, tougher players push, tackle, hit, shove, intimate those players that will take it. Our approach is be the aggressor, don’t bully but don’t take it either. Not normal or much condoned in our lil happy area. So I teach it. Some like it and stay some don’t and leave. We both win. What you have to understand is that toughness is not a skill, it is great for your younger kids but in High School, pretty much everyone is tough. We will continue this into June. Now what I need parents to push is for your child to be able to make layups. Yes layups. I barely n rarely teach it. Mostly because I am embarrassed that a child who wants to play jr high n high school can’t perform one by 4 grade. I show our 2/3 graders but by 4th grade your child has got to have the personal pride to be able to do both right n left handed layups. This is how 97% of 7/8/9th graders get cut from their school teams, honestly. 85% of 7/8 grade boys n 90% of girls can’t perform a right or left handed layup properly and or visually correct. Meaning not looking spastic. THAT ALONE IS PERSONAL PRIDE. A coach see’s no pride, your child is on cut list. So tell your child show you a left n right handed layup at speed. That tells you about your child. Now for some GREAT NEWS. We have purchased a building to house our Basketball and Volleyball Teams. Across the street from our present location on General Patton. Over 15k sq feet. We will have reception area, pro shop, offices, cafe. This is not our ultimate home. We will still get our 4 court facility, just the interest rates n cost are still too high. So this is necessary for the mean time to get started. Yes it has air conditioners, building is spray foamed, lol. We have to put in about 500k to get it ball ready. Timeline is September opening. The 2 operations in it will be mine as well as Jenn Hardy’s Dynamic Volleyball Training, 24 access to Titan basketball and volleyball players, Pro Shop where you can purchase your uniform and other equipment without having to wait, a cafe style lounge, professional film room for viewing games n training. Plus a couple other amenities we are presently negotiating. I want to take this time to apologize to our high school players who went these past 5 years without a full time home. My business to me was adrift, no real home. I never thought that would happen, I always assumed my players would have a real home to train n play when ever they wanted. I failed them and I think about them everyday. So to those players, - Major, Cole, Ethan, Reece, Emily, Addison, Isabelle, Caleb, Grant, Jesse, Kareem, Blake, Jada, Luke, Drew, Kevin, Dillion, Billy, Jaci, Anna, Matthew, Isiah, and so many more. I am sorry. Won’t ever happen again and no I did not sign a contract. Handshake with a better person. We are off MONDAY for Memorial Day, back at it Tuesday at Kehoe.
Parents- Training Tonight and Wednesday is at my gym on Hwy 59. Same times, please share with friends.
If you plan on going I need to know. Will be a good time n the BBQ isn’t bad either.
Parents Training tonight is at Kehoe, last week was a one timer. Also Jason has invited everyone to a Appreciation Reception for all Titans on Saturday. Food and Drink available. Text me if you plan on attending. Ensue will be determined by how many people attend. Should be a great event.
Tuesday Training is being moved today to My Gym on Hwy 59. Same Times, bring water. Also Tuesday trainees check your ball, looking for on with name of Darby on it. Spread to other titans, TY
Parents- Getting a lot of questions about Summer 3 on 3 League. As we finish May we flow right into 3 on 3 that goes thru September. You will need to Register for that session. I will post training times n days later in month. We will get the same basic times n days. We will be adding many more as the register. I will say this, I run a Development Basketball Program not a seasonal team program. With that said right now we are focusing on 5 man travel team basketball. Truthfully the least development I do all year. We train your child but mostly to learn how to run real offense n defense with fast break and press break disciplines. In addition they learn what accountability looks like during games. All valuable but hard when many are new with limited skills n IQ but want to play in games. We make it work thou. Now 3 on 3 is the BEST, we teach how basketball is built into a team game. You can’t hide in 3 on 3 like you can in 5 on 5. It adds more to a players game than you can imagine. For 6/7/8 graders this is must if you plan on trying out for school teams. Your coach will know you were trained. For our 2/3/4/5 graders this is the best base development they can receive. It will be a great base they can build from. Those who start young with us always show out in Junior high and high school teams. When we receive 7/8/9 graders for the first time it is difficult. We have to go back and teach elementary type skill that was never taught or learned. Makes traditional development difficult if not almost impossible. I ask now for your help as parents, if you know of young players that love basketball, share my flier n number. Getting them in 7/8/9 grade is such a disadvantage to the player. Can’t cram in 3/4/5/6 gr skills in 2 years. Getting players early gives them the greatest advantage. Parents thank you for your assistance. More information on 3 on 3 coming out, same monthly cost, Saturday games- no extra costs, not life or death, go on your vacation or family event, jump in game next Saturday. ————————————————— Parents FYI- last weekend we hosted YBOA tourney for high school. Like we do for younger teams. When your child or yourself act like an idiot to the official, the official remembers your kid and you. Guess what-that official refs High School and recreational games. Guess what -your kid suffers. Guy why- because you and your kid are idiots. I had 2 women contact me about joining our program. I told them no, they were surprised. I told them you act like idiots at Recreational gyms n Biddy Games. My People don’t do that. The officials are my friends, they provide a valuable service, a thankless service. I am not having them dislike me and my program because you are an idiot. Now do refs have bad games? Of course, does your child stink occasionally? Of course, so it is even. I make our players thank the officials after every game. You know why? Because your child will play again with them officiating, you want the ref liking your child. So when you are at one of our games, High School, Junior High or Elementary, Marc, Jada, Kali, Jesse, Chandler and myself are using the other team to make your child better. We want to win but we want to put your child in situations that make your child’s game develop. That is what we do. Not act like FOOLS. ——————————————————- Now as we enter the final stretch of travel season, please finish your commitment. We are now at a stage where teams are playing better as we have time together n players understand what we are doing. It takes truthfully 6-8 months to get where I feel your child sorta gets its. You see how some of our regulars are at a whole different level. They have been in the program a while and even with playing with various combinations, they still stand out. They understand basketball, who they play with is irrelevant. Focus on if your child is focused on the proper things, getting tougher mentally, becoming better on defense, becoming a rebounder, etc. You want to be one of the best players on struggling team. Learn how to do everything, mentally, physically. ——————————————————- Question I get from parents as we are playing games. Why do we play up against competition? While some play down? We play teams and players up to challenge the team and or players skill, iQ, toughness. This makes your child better by making your child understand why the skills we teach are important. With out using skill your child will find it hard to play up in competition. We play some down to give the player confidence while playing a unfamiliar position. Often we move bigs down to handle ball n run offense as a leader. Sometimes players are new and that is their skill level. We don’t abuse situation to win. —————————————————— If you guys get a chance, take a second over the next few days to text Jason White and thank him for his efforts in making these tournaments as big and nice as they have been. You can not imagine how difficult it is getting coaches, teams, officials, venues, workers, all in line to host a tournament. That alone should be a realty show. I tell everyone basketball has the best athletes in sports but are the dumbest as a whole, players and coaches and parents. We tie in parents with baseball / softball parents. He is a great guy, with a great heart. I think he is moron for all the aggregation he goes thru but a great partner. +1 (504) 247-2038. YBOA has grown to be the biggest most consistent basketball tournament hosts in our area during travel season. —————————————————— Parents I am almost finished with my latest Sunday Scoring Clinic. I will start another session in late May. More information to follow. Basically 10 Sundays, 5:00-6:30, 7 players, grades 6-9, 550.00. Per hour this is a steal. Is it worth it? Well I have trained about 30 players in past 20 years that have scored over 1000 points in High School. Being a threat to score is a necessity to play. I already have 3 signed up. Text me to get in. ———————————————————— The below picture is of me and our 8th grade team. It was after a loss Sunday in a tournament. My talk to them was what we are about as a program. These players on this team are good players who play key roles on talented junior high teams. Most would want to be as good as these guys. They are role players playing on a team with no STUD, no player or players that drive the bus. Take Steph Curry n Klay Thompson off Golden State, take LBJ n AD off Lakers, take Paul George and Kawai Leonard off Clippers. Drew off Hannan, Reece of SPS, Those teams are no good or struggle. Everyone else is a role player that is looking around for who is THE STUD now? Realizing at that moment they are not “the man”This team struggles because they are trying to become the STUD. It is difficult but it is an opportunity. This is how development looks. My talk to them was no one stepped up to finish n win a winnable game. First step in development is acknowledging you are not “that guy”, you need to work harder in many facets to become “that guy”. Honesty is a tough thing, not fun when you get exposed n realize you are not who you think you are. Solution- listen, work n then work longer n harder than everyone else. WHO you play with does not matter, how YOU plays matter. ———————————————————- Parents who are not in our program, give me 4 months. June thru September, you will be amazed what we can teach your child. 4 months is 3 years of recreational ball. Coming to me in 7/8 grade just handcuffs your child. Jump in early so I can train them properly. My parents please pass along the flier, thank you.
Parents if you are considering playing Recreational Summer Leagues at Pelican Park or Coquille consider playing 4 months with me in my 3 on 3 Summer League. These 4 months will advance your child years in basketball ability, IQ n play. I have been doing this for 15 years and it is the best way to learn how to play real basketball. Playing 5 on 5 is great, once you know how to play basketball properly. problem is 8 out 10 kids don’t play basketball properly or at least don’t understand why or what they are doing. Give me 4 months and I will change the way your child plays basketball forever. If your boy or girl is going to play Junior high ball next school year. This is a great pre training for their tryouts. Give me 4 months and if you are not pleased I will give you your money back. For my parents already in Travel Basketball with me you can just bleed right from May into Summer 3 on 3.
Parents, players need to wear their jersey or they will not participate in the scrimmages on Tuesday n Wednesday. They need to wear it at every session. For those who train on Tuesday n Thursday. If you do not come to Thursday training at my gym, you will not train on Tuesday. We are getting the bandwagon jumpers, those who come on scrimmage day n not to the appropriate associated training day. The only way you get good at playing in games is by doing the training. Can’t skip the step. Parents, parent your child. The 8:00 group on Tuesday is fine, not many show up on Thursday. Make sure you are there Thursday at my gym. Remember No Jersey No Play. No I Don’t Care what your excuse is. What are we doing now? We are fully engaged in playing in tournaments n local travel Saturday’s. Having great success n painful learnings. Just as it should be. Ya I know if we had set teams we would be more competitive, ya I don’t do that. That is not training, that is playing. You kids play at School and at recreational depts. My way of training makes your kid better on school teams n at Recreational teams. I say this all the time your child is going to play on teams in Junior High n High School. On those teams will be players that play but are no good at basketball. They are tough, athletic, super fast, aggressive. Those are not basketball skills. I teach basketball skills your high school coach is looking for. Loading teams is not training. 3/4 if not all of all state championship teams are loaded teams. That is recruiting n some coaching. I am adding tools to your child’s tool belt. So he or she can fit in on any team your high school coach has. This takes on many forms. Playing players up, down, sideways. Playing different roles than they are not use to. Yes they don’t look great, yes it is difficult, yes I know, yes I know. This makes your child a better player. I am looking at players who make All District, All State teams for various schools. We have about 7 between juniors n Seniors in boys. You would think they played n trained together. Nope, hell some don’t even know each other. Fact is, they played at same place, trained by me n my trainers, n never played as a team together. Played off n on with each other. Some played up, some played down. What they did was allow me from 3/4 grade up to put them in the correct position to be successful now. Trust me I know more than you, this is my career. Just because I do it differently, doesn’t mean I am wrong. Playing on stacked teams makes kids happy as well as their coach. you pay me to make your kid good or better not to make them happy. N ya I don’t care about their friends. Usually their friends are not any good individually. They are good as a stacked team. As we are doing tournaments and Saturday League Play, I am rethinking all this non sense. These weekends in tournaments are getting ridiculous with cost. We are a major contributor. Costs are over the top, some warranted, some not. Truth is I can get the same amount done n achieved playing at Kehoe. One parent this past weekend laughed, ya costs are killing us but we want to play in tournaments. You don’t, your kid does because he friend does. Screw his friend. most tournament games pain me to watch, mostly a waste of time n money. Ya I get you need competition but are you getting better? A saints coach said once, pre season games are use less. Going to play during the week at another teams complex is the best work they do. Scrimmages that they teach in. In taking to this parent she suggested one tournament a month, n then just Saturday league Play. That was the way we always did it but that changed when everyone started thinking tournaments was the best. Thank baseball, softball n volleyball for that nonsense. N my Titan organization jumped right in. our tournament are basically sold out each week. Like ice cream everybody likes it but not really good for you. So we will play occasionally in tournaments n more Saturday LP’s. Have to get my Baton Rouge friend to stop charging a house note to get to see two games. We charge 5.00 dollars. Anything more for two games n they are stealing. More Saturday training. Parents now remember when we win great, but when we lose by 8-12 points. That is a win. Our team is make up to compete n work on OUR PERSONAL game, not team, no chemistry, players don’t really know each other, no trust factor. Playing on skill, IQ n toughness alone. Right now we are working on individual attack moves, n defensive skills that are necessary for man defense scheme. We are fairly confident with out offense n dribble, drive, kick ability. Working still on ball, deny, help defense. Blocking out is better with older groups, weaker with younger groups. We will continue with games thru May. —————————————————- Our next Session is 3 on 3 Summer League June thru September For those who train year round, you just bleed into June as normal. For those currently not in training and want to jump in, go to website for registration. If you have a question text me. Now I say this every year. This is the best training we do all year. This is the best 4 months any player will receive from 8th grade and under. I would do this 6 months a year if I did not have to do Travel Session. This 4 months is the best thing your child will do towards his or her development. Not even a question. Training during the week as normal, 2days. Games on Saturday, basically 3 Saturday a month. If your child is getting ready for 7/8/9 gr tryouts this is the best way to prepare to make a team. Your school coach will see how your child plays versus other players. More information will be forthcoming. ———————————————————- For those who pay middle and last half of month please do so. Reminder to go to Northshorebasketballtraining.com to pay on website.
Looking for a Camp Helper for camp this week. Good for Service Hours
Hope everyone had a great Easter, training this week is as usual. Same as last week.
Parents same schedule as last week. second please April and all payments of 170.00 thru our website from this point forward. Thank you.
Many things: One basketball mom stated why do we push the ball up the court? She said our kids are not good at it. I said yes I know, we are pretty much trained to walk the ball up, thru School n recreationally. We push the ball to play at speed, and ya I know Your kid is not good at that, which is why we do it. To improve on a necessary evil. They have to learn to play fast, think fast. Isn’t they way to win but it is the way they need to play in order to play in high school. 2/3/4 grade -skill development, competition teaching 5/6/7 grade -skill development, competition teaching, toughness 8/9 grade -skill development, competition teaching, toughness, personal accountability I show your child who they actually are, not who they think they are. Then I try and train them on how to get better. Not everyone likes this, but I can promise you your child needs it. Reason for southshore Titans- been trying to this for numerous years. Lu we had 70 players this year we are close to 200 players. Jason was perfect person to develop this. He likes talking on phone. Goal is to have other teams than northshore titans to play against with similar goals. We can play year round teach n build players skill. I hear - are we playing other Titans? well sometimes yes and that is a good thing. Parents don’t realize this but we are trying to get best competitive games possible, so players can compete n learn. That is how your child gets better. The other Titan teams are other players from all over. Just happen to be in our program, under one name. I played a 6th gr team last week with a kid dunking, total waste of time. We are trying to avoid this nonsense. We have some 8-10 n many assistant high school coaches supporting our program. getting more weekly as they see what we are doing. because they don’t want their high school kids playing in non sense waste of time street ball games. Which has been the problem for decades with AAU n other organizations. We get good teams n play as often as possible. Look at soccer and how big they are. Quality people, quality coaches, quality games, no idiots. We are close, still a few dummies that slip in. When you see Jason, thank him. No one is doing it better and going thru more bull. Guys if you text me on Saturday/Sunday, I most likely won’t or can’t respond. Due to games or training. Get me during the week. also anything we talk about during training, I most likely won’t remember what we talked about or agreed to. Text me during the week Yes we are going to train and play hard, get use to it. Soft people cause issue. Easter Basketball Camp April 11-14 2-6 grade 9:00-12:00 Jump in and bring a friend Venmo me ——————————————————————————— April Payments forward go thru website. northshorebasketballtraining.co

Parents there are a bunch of basketball games on tonight. Men’s and Women’s. I will say this from a person who has trained players for 24 years now. Watch both but make your son especially watch the girls. If I had a wish, I would wish every player of mine had the skill and IQ of the top girls in this tournament. They are fundamentally sound n far better in this respect than the men. Men are just more physical, athletic, than the women. A outstanding high school boy should want to be what the top women are fundamentally and IQ. but still be a boy. Enjoy the games, watch who gets bullied n how they respond, who rebounds and who doesn’t. That is your game.
Parents this weekend we will start playing games, some have played the last couple weekends. some are just more ready to play than others. This weekend more will play for the first time, newer players will be playing in next couple weeks. Also some grade groups are just not available. Below I will explain what n why we are doing what we do. Why it is different than others n what you can expect and should look for from your child while he or she plays. First please remember your child is being trained while playing in the games. Parents yelling, screaming and acting like fools will be asked to leave gym by me, way before police come for you. As proud as I am of the organization, I don’t allow idiots in it. Never have, never will. Many say I would never train with me, fact is I would not let them in. Second, your child’s team is built to expose their weakness not strength. We are using the other teams to train and show your child what he or she is not. Why the training is important n should be taken as such. Yes I could load teams, I don’t. You want a ring or trophy, call me I will buy you one. I threw our trophies away when we left our last gym. They were in boxes in storage room. We don’t play to spread our coaches names or win trophies or rings. We play to get better as individuals. I make it as hard on your kid as possible so when it matters in basketball in high school and in life, he or she says - been here before n I ain’t giving in. No matter how tough it gets. We will play good, excellent and bad teams. We change our teams each week so our players don’t get comfortable. Comfortable players don’t get better, uncomfortable players look at how do I get better? The goal in basketball and life is to always keep trying to get better. We start that now. I do BASKETBALL so you get better in basketball and life. Parents and grandparents are bias, life isn’t, neither am I. No your kid is not that good, trust me. We are basically a year behind talent wise versus the southshore. Yes, we have young school teams with our players on it that beat southshore teams regularly. Those are loaded teams with kids that have been trained for years. N it is not talent it is toughness that is the variable that has us a year behind on average. I train players on both sides. I see it, I train kids with no clue on how to play basketball but are athletic enough n tough enough to beat well trained players on northshore because of toughness of mind n body. Jason and I talk about it all the time. Parents, I put out game times on Thursday, I get times on Tuesday evening usually but times change regularly, trust me. I wait till Thursday to eliminate as much change as possible. If your child does not play on a particular weekend they will the next. As we move forward more opportunities exists for all skill groups. Some Saturday your child skill group games do not exist. I play your child based on skill, then grade. Now some teams have to be grade based, 80% of our teams are skill based. I am trying to force your child to play or understand basketball in a different way. I use a line now a high school coach said while watching his high school team play one of my high school groups. Charles he said “ we play basketball, problem is we are not any good at basketball”. I am trying to make your child good at basketball. What is a basketball player? Someone who thinks before he or she plays n has done it so often in a certain way that the fundamental, skill, IQ are just who they are. Consistency in form, fundamentals, skill, IQ, etc is what the coach is looking for. Can your Childs coach TRUST YOUR CHILD? Listen - is it who your child is? That is the question. A local high school team in a playoff game lost. Ok it happens but they turned ball over 18 times and gave up 23 offensive rebounds. The other team was no regular powerhouse. The local team lost by less than 5 points, so that tells me the other team was no good. They got 23 offensive rebounds n got 18 turnovers AND ONLY WON BY 5. They stink as well. I told one of the coaches that the team bus should have come back empty. Not one player or coach should have ridden back in it. They should practice without electricity n restart the program next season with open tryouts. Giving up 23 offensive rebounds tells me the Junior n Seniors don’t get it. only fault of the coaches is allowing that mindset to ever happen. Yet parents don’t think anything of it. If you give up 10 offensive rebounds, the coach should pull his or hair out. My point is Those Juniors and Sophomore should be personal training not playing on Travel Teams. They can play basketball, they just are not as good as they think they are. Those Seniors were definitely not as good as they thought they were. Personal train the body n mind. For players till 9th grade train n play. After Sophomore year train personally. Look if you take off the BEST player at any local high school team in our area, that team is 500 at best maybe. 1 player makes that big a difference. So everyone else needs individual development. TRAINING not Stinkin GAMES. I have 3 girls, I never entertained their opinion on what they thought what was best for them. They were kids n not that smart, except my oldest. Games are like ice cream for fat people, they love it but it is not good for them. Training is good for them. I love parents who tell me “ well my child would like to do” listen parent your child is 10,12,15, whatever n really sometimes not that intelligent. Be the parent n do what is best, not what they want. I don’t do ICE CREAM So allow me to train your child, play them where I see fit, n when I see fit. Allow me to keep them thru 9th grade year, n I promise you, your child’s high school team won’t give up 23 offensive boards n they will be great people. I am not bias. What to look for in games? Is your child running the court properly based on where ball is n where they were when ball got possessed? Is your child pushing the ball n passing forward? Is your child guarding the proper player or are they guarding a different person each possession? Does your child block out and rebound or are they soft n get pushed around? Is your child aggressive or passive in the game, do they get bullied? Can your child dribble and attack the rim? These are things to look for. they can’t do all of these facets properly but we are working at them, so when it matters, they will be good. the score of the game is not what matters, how he or she performed does. Does your child give up or keep fighting? Thru mid March we have trained your child -the offense, press break and fast break, swingin the ball. Defense will be a challenge for a week or two, mid April it will be drastically better. April May June we will teach the nuances of playing man defense, attacking the rim, handling the ball, rebounding, etc. Right now we need structure first, details next. Lastly if your child continually misses training n calls Saturday morning saying I can’t play, you will get the feeling I am giving you the cold shoulder or silent treatment. I am, don’t be confused. Thank you for your trust n confidence, this about basketball n we throw a little life learnings in it as well.
Ok Parents this is a lengthy one. Saturday at Kehoe- we are scrimmaging, I will be at Kehoe by myself. 9:00-11:00 I will text you to have your child there. 11:00-12:30 8/9/10 grade guards only, no bigs. Marc should have designated those guards at training Thursday. Bigs are playing in Brusly. 12:30-2:00 I already texted this group will add more today. 2:00-3:30 5/6/7 gr boys Saturday will be the last day to get what your child needs to know before we start taking them out to games. Newer players will do additional Saturdays to get ready. Here is the hook with me and this training program, what we teach on Saturdays is the IQ of basketball, where to be, where to look in transition from offense to defense and from defense to offense. Where to set up, where to look, etc, etc. From there we will teach the IQ of getting to the basket. Next week we will start working harder on the defense n offense of the game. Man to man defense and 4 out 1, 5 out offense. Started a little of this already. Purpose of Saturday is to see what your child knows and doesn’t know. How they react to being under pressure and having to read the court. Running around and hoping they are right is not ok. They have to think properly and act accordingly. I stole this saying from a high school coach friend. He told me watching his team play, my team plays basketball but they are not good at basketball. This is so true for so many teams. Ya you are on a high school team but you are not good. Playing basketball is different than being a basketball player. Saturday and these games are tests to get you to be a basketball player.
Your child should be watching every minute of the ncaa tournament. Just watched a game get won because one player wanted a loose ball in the final minute more than 2 players on the other team. Basketball is like life, it is separated between those who want it and those who are content getting what ever happens. Let me and my trainers put some passion and toughness in your kid. Be the kid who wants it more. Do and be what these two pictures say and you are ahead of the game.

Saturday Training and Please Do’s 9:00- 3/4 gr 10:00 5/6 gr 11:00- 7/8 gr 12:00- 9/10 gr Please bring your summer camp flier n payment check. If you don’t know dates yet, send check n confirm dates later. Yes you can change if something pops up. Biddy All Star girls more than welcome Saturday at 10:00. Wear your uniform if you are waiting on them, wear a reversible jersey. Reminder tonight is a Hannan 3rd round game @ 7:00 vs Carver at Hannan. Go watch a coach, coach the dog snot of his team weather they are winning or losing. Our program is trying to get your child to be ok with that type passion. Those kids act, play, conduct themselves differently than all other local school players. They don’t have a choice. Not for everybody. With that said James Richardson find out what boys are playing with us. We need to have a separate parent/coach meeting. Errol Gauff is your coach and not all parents may be ok with that. Congratulations to Addison, McKenna, Emilee, Zoe Jane, Morgan for making All District this year. Out of 10, we had 5 of them. Cecilia and Freshman Victoria were Honorable Mentions. We don’t have a ton of girls but the ones that last are pretty good. We don’t want a ton, just a few different ones. Btw these girls are Fresh, Sophomore and Juniors. While I am congratulating these 6, I want to pass on some parental advice. When trying to do what is best for your child, key word CHILD, YOUNG ADULT, don’t ask for their opinion. They will always choose the easy route. That route is filled with regrets. Listen to them, then act like the smarter person and choose what is best in the long run. Works out better.
Several things Saturday training @ Kehoe 9:00- 3/4 graders 10:00- 5/6 graders 11:00-7/8 graders 12:00- 9/10 graders Get to Kehoe if you plan on playing on travel teams. How we fast break and press break tells me who and what you are. it will also tell your school coach who your kid is- teachable or not teachable. Being able to think before the play, react to the thought and be right is a DEVELOPMENT SKILL. Running around like a drunk, tells me we have different work to do first. Basketball is not your child’s first issue. Second- Friday night at 7:00 Hannan Boys play at home for the right to go to State. They play Carver. Do yourself and your child a favor and go watch one of the this states top 3 coaches battle an athletic big team in carver. Win or lose, you will see what skill, toughness, pressure looks like for an entire game. You will also see how kids react to someone coaching and teaching them hard from start to finish. Third- I will have summer Camp schedule for everyone Saturday at Kehoe. Next week please fill out what your week will be. Make out a check to me and staple it to the camp form. Picture attached. Parents several things and Congratulations to Reece Schnexnaydre Saturday for everyone, we are going over Fast breaking and press breaking. This is how we start training your child: Mentally, Skill Wise. In a game you will see who attended and who did not. In a school game you see the same thing, players who are lost and those who are not. Kehoe 9:00-10:30 3/4/5 gr 10:30-11:45 6/7 gr 11:45-1:00 8/9 gr Get you uniform ordered, I will have forms Saturday at Kehoe. Start getting me your SUMMER CAMP form in. For those 8th grade and below. Photo attached. If you don’t know exactly the week you want- no biggee, get form in with a note along with payment and choose week as we getter closer to summer. Payment by check. I will address my School Team post from yesterday next week. Had many interesting inquiries to say the least. We tried it for 2 years, just doesn’t build BETTER players, builds chemistry. I don’t do chemistry, I build players. Chemistry is for school teams and is important. Chemistry in training just helps hide your issues. I expose them so your child can recognize and address. What training is about. Now I am going to Congratulate Reece Seicshnaydre and his family. Dad Craig, Mom Alicia, Brother Evan and Reece. This year is pretty special for our program as it is every year with players succeeding personally and team wise. The Timmons brothers at Hannan- Luke Sr. Drew So. and Gabe 8th all got in a varsity game recently. Well Reece is the second Seicshnaydre in about 2 years to graduate from SPS. His older brother Evan had a highly successful career ending up losing in final 4 game his senior year to St. Aug in Lafayette. If SPS could rebound they play in a State Championship game. Evan was a 1000 point scorer for his career. Evan started with us at 7 or so, pretty easy to make him outstanding in my first gym. Evan was small, athletic and highly driven. mom was concerned he played with other teams and was a reserve player and was affecting his game and confidence. I told her yank him, play and train with me and forget about it. The great thing about the Seicshnaydre family is that the dad is a doctor and mom helps in his office. I don’t know if Craig played ball or not but he and mom never once got in the way of me training their kids. Did exactly as I asked and just showed up for boys games. Well Evan again was a no brainer, but I can say this, Evan was a pain in the ass because always wanted to play on loaded teams. I want to beat this team or these guys, I said ok n put him with Michael Cuccia, Dylan, Kevin, etc lol - all guards. I always put him on teams of all guards, no bigs, made everything hard on him. Told him prove me wrong. Started and played from Sophomore year on. Well that served him well. Now Reece started at age 5, coat tailing on his brother. Reece was another story, he wasn’t Evan. Not at age 5, I can’t always tell a mom how good a boy player can be. Girls pretty easy, boys not so much. So we get Reece at 5 and move him through. Loves basketball, shy, not aggressive, not fast, not confident, not athletic, not Evan. More like a baseball or soccer player, lol just kiddin. What he did have was an older brother and parents who trusted me. So we train him and he moves along doing well. Learning, playing and finding his self with a brother that is doing pretty well. I always told Evan, hammer your brother at all times. Your job and my job is to make him better than you. Just the way it goes. Untold life lesson. Time goes on and about 6th or 7th grade Mom and Dad call me to see if we can get together and discuss Reece. Now Reece is pretty good at this time, taller in growth than Evan but not Evan. Still a good player, highly skilled and great IQ. To me he is on track to be his brother or better and better than pretty much everyone else. Mom and Dad don’t necessarily see this in his self confidence. So we meet with Reece and talk. I was surprised to hear the parents spin because to me Reece was right where most kids are, doubting themselves at times, not playing on school teams like they play with me, lacking confidence at times. all three sat on my couch n I listened, Reece fidgeted and had his head down at times. Mom and dad just wanted to know what I thought and what was in store for Reece. Like it was yesterday I told them he is fine, he is bigger than Evan, as skilled as Evan, IQ like Evan, not as tough but that should come as puberty occurs. That is the KEY toughness. Mentally and physically. How was that going to happen for Reece. Now training with me, that should be a no brainer and I trust that I am good enough to deliver the toughness n confidence that I just prey the player accepts it. I told Craig and Alicia he was fine, he would be one of the best and I would continue as usual. I told Reece this was on him, I put all the pressure on him. His parents were willing, he had me, and his brother was already the man. If he failed it was on him alone. Sounds harsh but so is life. All three did as asked, Reece did shooting lessons, played on bum travel teams with Danny Roscher, and bitched like his brother. I used Danny and Reece to drive each other. Danny was the best 7th grader at FJH and Reece was the man in private school league. I never gave them any credit, treated like they did not matter, was harder on both of them than others. In fact I almost ended Danny’s life in a game when I told him hold the ball, don’t shoot, game is over. Well Danny looks at me a shoots a half court shot in my face. Before the ball hit the backboard, I had his skinny neck in my hands pushing him up against the other baseline wall. Danny dad, who is also Dan and a Saints coach and a good friend, called me that night and asked me what happened. I told him n he said ok, no problem. Danny never shot a ball like that, lol. Now one thing I told Reece, like I tell all going into High School is get bigger, lift weights after freshman year. He and his parents ran the gauntlet, did the journey and well Reece was the man from 8th to Senior man. Played on various travel teams, changing his game as requested. Mom would call and ask is this group ok? well mom they are not on any school honor roll but we are looking for basketball players not Albert Einstein’s. Wasn’t easy, lots of doubt, lots of work, I run a program not a fantasy camp. Had it not worked out, well they did everything they could have, all you can ask. I Can’t think of a better family I have ever dealt with, as supportive a family I have ever dealt with, I wasn’t always nice or understanding with the boys. Parents believed in me and what we do. This is about Reece but it in my heart is about this family. Shit I honestly have not said more than 50 words to Craig over all these years- we see each other, nod and shake hands, exchange how you doing, how are the boys, at the end he says thanks - I say congratulations my pleasure. Mom smiles, we kiss, she sometimes cries, I cry and we go about our way. Evan tells me if he had 2 bigs they were state champs in 8 and 9th grade travel ball n he is better than Reece. I agree and tell him get a haircut. I was lucky mom found me, these type people drive me then and now. So congratulations to the whole family, SPS was lucky to get you guys. Next chapter College team. Reece thank your family and especially Evan. Love you Seicshnaydre family
Parents, schedule is as follows- Tonight training at my gym- 6:00 3/4/5 gr 7:00. 5/6 gr 8:00. 7/8 gr Saturday Kehoe 9:00-10:30 3/4/5 gr 10:30-11:45 6/7 gr 11:45-1:00 8/9 gr Now many missed last week because of this or that, you have to choose between these Saturdays and playing on Saturdays. You child has to know the structure - we fast break n break the press. That is the only chemistry we have as a group. I will not play someone if they don’t know where to go in a given situation. Screw the parade, the party, whatever. Just my two cents. Secondly, if you don’t have a uniform, order one now. Forms are at both gyms. Ask for one. Third, I have received several summer camp forms back, schedule is at both gym. Paid by check not Venmo. Fourth I have those ball handling shooting hand bands, outstanding training tools for everyone. 15.00, I only have 50. No Venmo Lastly, I am going to give a professional point of view on “consistent teams and school teams”. Will offend many and help many. since this may be your first or second time I will share what will happen. As I have seen and experienced over 20 years. As we roll from Biddy and 8th n High School teams I fully encourage you not to play on your Biddy All Star team or you 8th / High School team as we enter travel season. Basically it is just STUPID propagated by individuals that usually mean well but no experience in making players better or just a self serving dad who is trying to keep his kid relevant. We are training to make your child better not a piece of a machine, after their season - break away and get on a mix team of different players from different schools. Change your role, change how you think, play, train. I am amazed at the abundant stupidity in parents and coaches. The ones pushing it mean well I guess, just not what is best for the number 3/4/5/6/7/8 player on the team. Great for the top 2 or 3, they keep scoring, handling the ball, running the team. The other stay in their supportive roles. NOTHING CHANGES…..nothing will. Stop Crack and Stop School Teams. Lol The off-season is to gain confidence, expand your game, explore your body change, increase your game mentality. Not keep doing what you have been for the last 6 months. Listen Reece Schnexnaydre from St. Paul’s is a great example, he has played with a different group since 8th grade, not the school team. Did pretty well for him and he is a kid who was one of the best on the school team n playing with SPS would not have hurt him but he wanted something different, not the same. Listen we will have mix 8th gr, 9th gr, 10th grade teams not schools teams. Did one for SPS last year and it was a shit show, other ones in the past, same thing. No one changed their game and parents complained. Not doing what parents want anymore, doing what is best. Now 2-4 kids from same team not a problem. So let me know your intentions now, so I can plan training time. For those who trained with me on Northshore and played on Titan teams on southshore, we will be doing the same thing this year. Already had a question- yes we will have multiple teams with players from same school if that is needed, just not a loaded one school team. Marc will be handling the 8th - High School for boys and Kali for girls.

It is a dribbling, shooting, ball handling hand tool that will help your child. I buy them for 13.00 so to make it simple just pay me 15.00 so I don’t have to make change. Pay me in cash, when you see me. I will let you know when I get them. I get these samples all the time, I usually just throw them away. This one caught my eye as it is a better product that addresses a common problem. First time I have ever done this. Well worth 15 dollars. Once you get them out your name on them, please.
Parents, today training is only at my gym, Kehoe double booked this week for Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday everyone my gym 7:00- 3/4/5/6 gr 8:00- 7/8 gr Wednesday Kehoe for regular players 6:00-3/4 graders 7:00- 5/6 graders 8:00- 7/8/9 graders My Gym for new players since November 7:00- 3/4/5 gr 8:00 6/7/8 gr Thursday Same as Tuesday my gym. Please pass along to friends.
Parents this week starts training at Kehoe. What does that mean? Our regular players will be at Kehoe for now, while newer players ( Since November) will be with me at my gym, on Monday Wednesday. The Tuesday Thursday groups will be at Kehoe on Tuesday and my gym on Thursday for both new and regular players. There is no training at Kehoe on Thursday, No training at my gym on Tuesday. This will change as Biddy n HS ball ends in February and early March. Newer players are with me so I can get them up to speed on certain skill sets. As they progress I will assimilate players into regular groups. We will putting players into groups this week to train and assigning times. Your child is in this group for their personal development. Either skill, leadership, toughness, accountability IQ, etc. TRAINING IS THE IMPORTANT ASPECT not who they train with. My program makes you a better player, That simple. As players progress, they make change groups. This Saturday we will be at Kehoe. 3/4/5 gr boys and girls- 9:00-10:30 5/6 gr boys and girls 10:15-11:45 7/8 gr boys and girls 11:30-1:00 Now for those in Biddy All Stars, come to training when you can. Ok now for all parents, this is how training will work for the next month or so. 3/4/5 grade - weekday heavy personal skill development, Saturday full court development. Offensive sets, press break n fast break. In house game n certain players doing travel ball. Working IQ, toughness and understanding what quality work means. 6/7 grade- weekday heavy personal skill development, Saturday full court development. Offensive, defensive sets, fast break n press break, This group will be about a ton of things but mainly about personal accountability to team thru their actions or lack of action. This group will be recognizing what their duties are and SHOWING to me they are gutsy enough to excite them. I can’t train them until I know if they actually know what their assignments are. Then two things happen- they prove to me they do it or can’t. Then I figure out if they need more understanding and IQ or are they just chicken when it comes to contact n accountability. This is when Rubber meets the road. This is the beginning of the making of a player or identifying who isn’t going to be a player. 7/8 grade- same as 6/7 grade just more focus on execution of skills, identifying situations, and a few other necessary things. Emphasis on games and weekly scrimmages. Again I will be breaking players into groups for their assigned times. Please adhere to them. My job along with my trainers is to isolate your child in game situations so they can prove to me, to you and most importantly to themselves that they are ready and prepared enough to COMPETE. At times it will be ugly and at times great. Goal is to be consistently better than others. They will have to accept criticism and praise while understanding their performance is never enough. Liking n loving basketball is great but not enough, you have to be good at basketball. That requires a different mind set. —————————————- Mardi Gras Camp February 22,23,24 Boys and Girls 2nd to 6th Grade 9:00-12:00 90.00 Text me to sign up, I will conducting the camp. Ok parents, here is this weeks schedule. Please pass along to friends. In addition we are have open registration thru February for training a travel ball. So pass that along as well. Monday / Wednesday-Kehoe for all players that have been with us thru October 3/4gr 6:00 5/6gr 7:00 7/8gr 8:00 Now for those who started in November thru now you are at my gym. 3/4/5gr 7:00 6/7/8gr 8:00 That schedule is for Monday and Wednesday training players Tuesday and Thursday group is at Kehoe 3/4/5gr 7:00 6/7/8gr 8:00 Just a side note, I just got thru coaching two games at PPark against their 6 gr n 7 gr boy All Stars. I was thinking about running the car off the causeway but I figured the lake not being deep n the my vehicle would not submerge, so I did not do it. But it was a consideration. We have so much work to do in understanding aggression, physical aggression, intimidation aggression, where a mom is screaming for her child type aggression. Standing in front someone is not defending, it is nothing. I love for my kids to play school n recreational ball but on days like this I don’t feel good about that thought. AGGRESSIVE PEOPLE DETERMINE THEIR OWN FATE, we will be those people. Not letting your kids think otherwise when they are on a basketball court in my uniform.
